Lobb Expects Tough Weekend

Media Release: Thursday 9th August
Caine Lobb leads the 2007 Formula Ford Winter Series with a healthy margin after four wins and two second places out of six races from two rounds.
Going into this weekend's Round Three at Manfeild Autocourse Lobb expects tough opposition as more drivers take advantage of the off season series as the national championship draws nearer.
"There's going to be a few more drivers there this weekend which means that there's going to be a bit more competition. It's going to be tough so I will just have to do the best I can in order to win this round. It will be good to check out more of the opposition before the national series starts." says Lobb.
At the last round Lobb had some very hard and close battles with Russell Hartley having a close finish in Race One where Hartley won by a fraction of a nose cone. Lobb managed to take the following two races with clear margins after a crash in Race Two and a missed gear in Race Three left Hartley out in the cold.
Lobb expects Hartley to be at Manfeild this weekend and is ready to do battle once more with him and another top driver who will also be contending the nationals.
"I think my biggest competition this weekend will come from Russell Hartley again and Andrew Waite if he makes the round." said Lobb.
After this weekend there will be only one round left to run in the winter series which will take place on Sunday the 16th of September. Lobb very much hopes to add the title to his growing list of achievements but realises that even with a strong lead in the standings it is not over yet. Tougher still will be when the national championship gets underway in November.
Between this and the next round Caine Lobb will be taking the Hydraulink Formula Ford to his hometown of Whangarei where he will be making himself available for his sponsors, media and supporters taking the opportunity to thank them for their efforts in helping with his championship ambitions. |
